Sigma Institute trains qualified individuals to meet these ever growing needs within the business, allied health and personal services fields. If you are prepared to make a change Sigma Institute offers learning experiences in a concentrated time frame and provides the environment for you to succeed.

Training provided caters to practical care assistants or practical care technicians and practical nursing. Many opportunities exist for nurses of all skill levels and, as the population ages, demand and opportunities for qualified nurses are likely to increase.

Sigma provides training of varying skill levels. Depending upon the skill level attained, nurses may be called upon to provide bedside nursing and direct care of patients including dressing wounds, starting and administering intravenous drips, monitoring vital signs, administering immunizations, drawing blood and other patient care duties. Nurses also consult with doctors and other health care professionals, provide health education and healthy lifestyle promotion, provide surgical assistance in operating rooms, supervise other nursing staff, prepare emergency reports and other paperwork and maintain records.

Employment opportunities for nursing assistants and practical nurses exist in hospitals, home care offices, outpatient clinics, physicians' offices, laboratories, mental health facilities, long-term care facilities, and schools.
